Nashville Club History:
The Nashville Club of Frontiers International, Inc. was started in 1956. Contrary to the foundation on which the organization was founded, the Nashville Club holds membership for both men and women interested in service to the Nashville Community. Serving both as one of the Founders and the Nashville Club's First President, YF James F. McClellan, a Nashville attorney and owner of McClellan Realty Company, established service to the community as the overall theme of Frontiers.
In the early days, the Club was very instrumental in setting a platform for local politicians to speak to the African-American community. The club did not endorse candidates, but welcomed them to speak to the group. Frontiers sponsored the first Annual Home Show, April 29-30, 1959, for the African American Community to give local and national vendors an opportunity to showcase its products. Early programs included service in area high schools and college institutions.
