June Service Opportunity - Nashville Rescue Mission
For our June Service Opportunity, YF's Cora Alston, Kenneth McClellan, and Shannon Romain participated in a service opportunity alongside of Nashvillians looking to have an impact on the community. Throughout the evening, we were able to not only serve meals, but more importantly interact and engage with Nashville's homeless population. The Nashville Rescue Mission continues to be a service opportunity that is mutually beneficial in both meeting our desire to serve, but also to have new committed individuals to serve Nashvillians. Thank you to the Nashville Rescue Mission for allowing us to serve alongside of you and your staff.

August 2016: Donation to Louisiana Flood Victims
Attention All:
In realizing how our neighbors in Louisiana suffered from flooding, the Nashville Club working collaboratively with Pinnacle Bank here in Nashville, made a donation to flood victims. Not only is it our responsibility to care for our Nashville Community, but also to do our part in ensuring that our other American communities know that they are in our thoughts.
Honored at our Club, at the leadership of YF Kenneth McClellan, for taking this on as a very worthy cause of our care and thoughts!

We are always honored to serve Nashville, but this opportunity has definitely gone down as one of the more rewarding experiences for the Nashville Club. We look forward to continuing to work with the Nashville Rescue Mission in serving some of Nashville's most needy community members!

Men's Health Awareness: June 2016
JUNE is Men’s Health Month!
In continuing in our aim of educating Nashville, the Nashville Club of Frontiers International has taken on Men's Health Awareness as its June Social Media Campaign. Throughout this month, we will raise awareness to Men's Health Issues in hopes of helping Men do better in being healthier.
Anchored by a Congressional health education program, Men’s Health Month is celebrated across the country with screenings, health fairs, media appearances, and other health education and outreach activities.
Use your company’s liberal dress policy to celebrate Wear Blue Friday, the Friday before Father’s day.
This site maintained by Men’s Health Network with the help of contributions from our generous supporters.
Men’s Health Network is a member of the Combined Federal Campaign – # 10825
Goal of Men’s Health MonthThe purpose of Men’s Health Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. This month gives health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury. The response has been overwhelming with thousands of awareness activities in the USA and around the globe.

Lupus Awareness 2016: May 2016
As an organization dedicated to raising awareness to health issues plaguing our communities, the Nashville Club took on Lupus Awareness for the month of May. In wanting to raise awareness, we joined the growing number of individuals, communities, media and celebrities that Put on Purple™ for lupus awareness and tell people why. Getting your purple on is an easy way you can help the Lupus Foundation of America raise awareness of lupus and show support for those who are living with the disease.
We are excited that we were able to reach thousands in raising awareness to Lupus. We will add this as an annual initiative in realizing the importance of educating the Nashville Community to Lupus and the impact it has on families throughout the world.
Thank you to everyone that supported us in this initiative!

Black HIStory Month 2016: February 2016
March 1, 2016
The Nashville Club of Frontiers International spent the month of February celebrating the life and legacy of all of those individuals that paved the way of service for our Nashville Club community. Without their active service, the precedent would not be what it is as providing meaningful, thoughtful, and excellent examples of service throughout the world.
Take some time to remember these individuals and accept the challenge to live and breath service. It is with this precedent that the Nashville Club uses as inspiration to continue to serve those that are in need of servant leaders. Thank you to all that have supported not only our club, but more importantly exhibit daily the life of service to community.
We look forward to continuing in this work and serving and uplifting the Nashville Communities. We hope that you will join the Nashville Club in this aim. Future generations depend on our being willing to live bigger than ourselves in service to community.
The challenge was cast years ago...will you accept? We have!

WORLD PEACE! Unified in the struggle, unified in the solution.: January 2016
To our partners in service,
We are deeply aware of the tragic cycle of continuing violence around the world. As we each find our own way through the complex maze of inner feelings, it is useful to know that we are not alone in our struggles or in our hopes.
Even as tragedy and suffering have occurred to so many people now and throughout history, there have also been passionate insightful voices calling for peace and healing.
No matter the tragedy, no matter the injustice, we must...MUST come together as one humanity and work together to improve the livelihood of our world. It is our hope to be an active part of the needed changes. It is our mandate to be exactly who God has entrusted us to be as His children, beacons of positivity, change, and a humanity capable of amazing things. I hope we can prove Him right!
Please join us in spreading positivity and living a daily life that is focused not on the negativity, but instead focused on the positive that we can all do for one another in working collaboratively in serving others and being active and servant leaders.

February 2, 2014: Nashville Adult Literacy Council visits the Nashville Club
The Nashville Club of Frontiers International was honored to host the Nashville Adult Literacy Council at its February club meeting. See the post that the Nashville Adult Literacy Council posted after the meeting. Shout-Out to YF S. Romaine for setting up this meeting and leading this initiative for the Club.
Frontiers International invites us to tell them about NALC...
"We always get excited when we are invited by another organization to share our story and mission, but Monday evening (Feb. 2), we had one of the best times ever talking about adult literacy with the Frontiers International Nashville Club.
“With Advancement Through Service in our hearts, the Nashville Club provides service to others and to the community. With this passion, we embark on various community service initiatives while simultaneously bringing about health awareness education activities.”
Those statements (taken from their website) get to the heart of what the club is all about, and the members in attendance intently listened as Executive Director Meg Nugent talked about how NALC’s mission and theirs coincide. ” Our average learner is 30 to 40 years of age with only a 2nd or 3rd grade reading level,” said Nugent, “He or she comes to us because often they had a terrible school situation, and they don’t want their children to go through the same things they did.”
Nugent also explained about our immigrant learners and how our tutors help them with functional skills, so they can get a job, move up to a better job, and/or simply help their children with homework, skills that most of us (adults) take for granted.
Thank you, Corey Burton, Kenneth McClellan, Jessica Rouse, Doris Petway, and Darrell Caldwell, for asking us to come out and talk with you.
We appreciate your time and consideration, and we hope our paths cross again very soon.
We are here when you need us!"

Service Opportunity: Young Life "Change A Life" Giving Campaign: April 7, 2014
Thank you Nashville Club for your willingness to accept the societal obligation of supporting other organizations looking to leave its footprint on the lives of students and families in the Nashville Community. Recognizing that we are not alone in this work, the Nashville Club proactively seeks out opportunities to support organizations with similar missions and desires to better the communities in which we live.
What is Young Life?
More than 20 years ago, "Young Life" answered God’s call to run headfirst into the chaos of teenage motherhood with the hope of Jesus ... and YoungLives was born.
What is YoungLives?
YoungLives has never wavered from the original vision to reach teen moms by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ, and encouraging them to become the women and mothers God created them to be. Through Young Life’s time-tested methods and life-on-life mentoring, teen moms are empowered to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.

The Northwest Family YMCA hosted an event honoring the Life and Legacy of our departed Yokefellow Dr. George Hull. It was truly an inspiring event and touched the hearts of all in attendance. He was truly a great person and his legacy will live on through the many people that his passion and commitment to service affected.
It is truly an honor to have served along side of him with the Nashville Club! Thanks again Northwest YMCA and the Hull family for honoring his name and ensuring that everyone remembers all that he exhibited in his life of service!!
There is a plaque that will remain at the Northwest Family YMCA as a testament to all that he has given the Northwest YMCA, but more importantly to the Nashville Community!

Umbrellas for Peace : October 6th, 2012 at East Park
Originally created by Matt Lamb, a wealthy artist, philosopher and self-described “unstoppable globe-trotting dynamo,” the Umbrellas for Peace rally began in 2001 in response to a request from the U.S. Pentagon. The initial event was aimed at helping survivors of those who died in the 9/11 attacks work through their grief.
“Matt came up with the analogy of an umbrella to use as a symbol of protection,” said Rose Gabler, Lamb’s granddaughter and event organizer. “[People] painted their hopes and dreams on the outside, so then it was another symbolic way of showing that your loved ones were still there to support you in your hopes, dreams and desires.”
A 79-year-old Chicago native, Lamb was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia more than 30 years ago but later re-diagnosed with mononucleosis, more commonly known as mono, according to Gabler. During the initial diagnosis, he was given six months to live but has since created a worldwide peace movement.
Lamb is described by many, including rally attendees, as an inspiration to millions. In fact, according to Gabler, more than 2 million people around the world have participated in past rallies, which have been held in more than 25 countries.

Hey all,
Just received information from the League affiliate of Ultimate Goal Soccer Ministries. Attached you will see a picture of Team Frontiers International. Here is the verbiage from John Stayskal about our team and their performance this past Spring.
"They were one of the better teams in the u8 division. They went 6-1 during
the season and had some really good players on their team. Their coach,
Joseph Haywood, is a great guy who many families request as their coach."
As you will see, 12 players, 8 and under, were afforded the opportunity to participate in this league free of charge thanks to our monetary donation. Hopefully you all feel as thankful and honored to have provided these youth with this opportunity as I do now. This is what it is all about!!
